This is an aesthetic procedure in which a sterile, gel-like hyaluronic filler is injected into the mucosa of the labia majora. Aum Wellness Clinic uses a special filler certified for gynaecological procedures.
The filler improves the appearance of wrinkles by filling the lack of volume and moisturising the mucous membrane. The hyaluronic acid injected binds and retains water, and stimulates fibroblasts, the cells that produce elastin and collagen fibres, giving the skin firmness and elasticity. This effect results in plumper labia majora, smoother mucous membranes and smoother wrinkles.
When are hyaluronic acid injections into the labia majora recommended?
- Asymmetry of the labia majora
- Loss of labia majora volume, e.g. due to ageing or weight loss
- To optically (without surgery) "reduce" the labia minora (reduce the gap between the labia)
Preparing for the procedure:
- Do not use blood thinners such as heparin, aspirin, warfarin, etc. for 2 weeks before the procedure.
- To remove hair from the external genitalia
The procedure:
After sterile preparation, lidocaine is injected into the labia majora with a syringe on both sides to numb the procedure and a special cannula is used to inject the filler into the labia majora. The injected filler is massaged for better distribution of the filler.
The result is visible immediately after the procedure. The final result may require additional corrections after the swelling has subsided and the bruising has disappeared.
Post-procedure care:
- No touching the injection site for 6 hours after the procedure
- Until the swelling and bruising subside, do not sunbathe in a sauna, sauna, solarium, swim in a swimming pool, bathtub, water reservoirs, use blood thinners (e.g. heparin, aspirin, etc.), cycle, ride a horse, have sex (2-14 days)
- Massaging of the injected product may be recommended (to be demonstrated) for better distribution
When should hyaluronic infections for labia majora not be performed?
- If there is a rash, wound or inflammation in the external genital area (including active Herpes infection, i.e. visible herpes rash in the genital area)
- If you are pregnant, breastfeeding
- If you use blood thinners such as aspirin, hepatin, warfarin, etc.
- Blood clotting disorders such as haemophilia, thrombocytopenia (low blood platelet count)
- If you have a fever
- You have recently had a blood infection (sepsis)
- If you have oncological diseases, especially blood cancer, vulvar cancer
- If you have immunosuppressive diseases such as. HIV/AIDS
- If you are allergic to lidocaine (a substance used for procedural pain relief)
