The gynaecological PRP procedure is the injection of platelet-rich plasma in multiple micro-needles into the mucous membranes of the reproductive organs to improve elasticity, elasticity, moisture, reduce age spots, micro-wrinkles, "rejuvenate" the mucous membranes, "soften" the painful perineal scarring, reduce the dryness, and improve the quality of intercourse.
At the Aum Wellness Clinic, PRP (platelet-rich plasma) is injected together with hyaluron (a substance that maintains moisture in the tissues) for optimal results. The procedure is carried out after anaesthetising the mucous membranes with a special cream containing lidocaine.
The principle of the procedure: biologically active substances released from the patient's platelets stimulate tissue regeneration (recovery), heluron and elastin production, resulting in faster mucosal regeneration, more elasticity and elasticity, improved resistance to abrasion, less dryness, and a better appearance.
When is a PRS clearance required?
- When there is a dry/"burning" sensation in the vagina, e.g. during perimenopause or after childbirth.
- Stretching, pain, and perineal scarring (caused by tearing or cutting of the perineal tissues as a result of childbirth)
- To reduce age-related changes, "revitalise/rejuvenate" the labia majora, improve elasticity and visual effect
- Improve the quality of sexual intercourse when there is painful intercourse
- For the treatment of sclerosing atrophic lichen planus (when the diagnosis is confirmed by biopsy)
How is PRP carried out?
Before the procedure, the patient's blood is drawn into a special tube containing heluron (a substance that improves tissue moisture) and the external genitalia are rubbed for 20 minutes with lidocaine anaesthetic cream. (hairs must be removed)
Platelet-rich plasma is separated from erythrocytes using a special apparatus and the prepared platelet-rich plasma with specially added heluron is injected into the problem areas of the genital mucosa with multiple punctures using microneedles.
Preparation for gynaecological PRP:
- In the 6 months prior to the procedure, the complete blood count (CBC) was normal and ANA (antinuclear antibodies) was not found (negative)
- Do not use aspirin or other blood thinners (heparin, warfarin, etc.) for 2 weeks before the procedure
- Remove hair from the external genitalia
Care after a gynaecological PRP procedure:
- 2 weeks after gynaecological PRP, do not apply corticosteroid creams, do not use oral or over-the-counter corticosteroids (hormonal immune suppressants)
- Do not use blood thinners (e.g. heparin, aspirin, etc.) for 2 to 3 days after the procedure
- 3d. no bathing in the bath, sauna or swimming pool after the procerura (there are no restrictions on showering)
- 2 days without sexual intercourse
- No cycling or riding for 2 days
When can I not have PRP?
- If there is a rash, wound or inflammation at the injection site (including active herpes infection, i.e. visible herpes rash in the genital area)
- If you are pregnant
- If you use blood thinners such as aspirin, hepatin, warfarin
- If you have a bleeding disorder such as haemophilia
- If you have a fever
- You have recently had a blood infection (sepsis)
- If you have oncological diseases, especially blood cancer, vulvar cancer
- If you have thrombocytopenia (low platelets in the blood), anaemia (low haemoglobin)
- If you have immunosuppressive diseases such as. HIV/AIDS
- If you are allergic to lidocaine (a painkiller)
